My toddler loves pressing the chopsticks into the rice ball pieces—it's a surprisingly satisfying little motion. The wooden wasabi and ginger slices are cute enough that I catch myself setting them out properly.

The little wooden pieces are just the right size for my 4-year-old's hands, and the self-correcting sushi mat makes it easy to teach him how each roll fits together. He’s already getting better at matching pieces, and I love that it encourages his imagination.

My 3-year-old has been “making” sushi for us every single day since this arrived, and the little details like the removable fish roe on the rice are what keep her so engaged. The pieces are solid enough to survive being dropped off the table, too.
