亨利的自由之箱：地下鐵路的真實故事

My 8-year-old was completely captivated by Henry's brave journey hiding in a wooden crate. The illustrations are so powerful they brought tears to my eyes while reading together.

I’ve read this aloud to my kids three times now and every single time we’re all holding our breath when Henry’s crate gets nailed shut. The illustrations by the Coretta Scott King Award winner are so rich that you can feel the heat and the dust, and the story never talks down to young readers.

The way the artist depicts Henry’s fear and hope in the illustrations made the story feel so real, and I found myself holding my breath during the crate scene. My own kids couldn't stop asking questions about the Underground Railroad after we finished reading it together.
