Livro de cartão: Sopa de galinha com arroz

My three-year-old now proudly announces what month it is after every bedtime reading, and the chicken soup refrain has us both giggling by the final page. The thick board pages have survived countless drops and even a spilled cup of milk without a single torn corner.

My toddler loves pointing at Sendak’s funny drawings while we chant the months together, and the rhyme makes it easy for her to remember. The board pages are sturdy enough to survive her enthusiastic page-turns, which is a lifesaver.

The months-of-the-year concept is clever, and the rhyming kept my kid engaged for a few reads. The drawings have that classic, slightly quirky feel, but the story itself felt a bit thin for the price. It's a decent enough book, though nothing extraordinary.
